Michael Levy represented the only defendant to be acquitted in a four month trial at Woolwich Crown Court.
The defendant was alleged to be a member of a “County Lines” drug dealing network operating in Kent. The prosecution also charged all defendants with human trafficking of the teenage drug runners, under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
A submission of no case to answer was accepted by the judge on the Modern Slavery counts, and the jury acquitted the defendant of having any knowing involvement in the drug trafficking.
